Summary of Studio module
This studio based module aims to develop digital architectural design skills to an advanced level. The module delivers an empirical approach to digital design methods and fabrication techniques facilitated via an architectural design project and a series of workshops. The module explores a holistic architecture via digital design with a focus on key elements and components (materiality and construction) for example, exploration of the building envelope. Collaboration working along disciplinary boundaries is encourages within this module.
Summary of Seminar module
Complementary to the design project in the studio-based module, a seminar module focuses on design research, knowledge and decision-making within the digital architectural framework. Together, the Studio and Seminar modules create an educational venue to optimise advancement in technology and innovative ways of thinking. Technological advances have caused a shift in the composition of design and build in the conventional sense and aided collaboration with allied disciplines. Thess module bridges the digital and physical representation of design reality at all stages of the architectural process and at multiple scales.
